Summer Pool Hours Now in Effect at Florence Swimming Pool
The Florence Swimming Pool is open for the season. Hours are Monday–Saturday 1–8 p.m. and Sunday 1–6 p.m. Follow the Florence Swimming Pool Facebook group for schedule updates and closures.

Harvey House Museum Tours Available by Reservation
The Harvey House Museum offers guided tours and dinners by reservation. The Florence Harvey House is one of the few remaining Fred Harvey establishments in Kansas. Call (620) 878-4296 to book.

Water Utility Rate Review — Public Comment Period Open
The City is conducting its annual utility rate review. Residents are invited to submit written comments to City Hall through June 30, 2026. Rate changes, if any, take effect October 1, 2026.

Florence operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. Council meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Community & History
Florence was platted in 1871 along the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. The city is home to the Florence Harvey House Museum, honoring the legacy of Fred Harvey's legendary hospitality along the rail lines.
