What We Offer

All services are free to Mitchell County residents with a library card.

  • Books & Periodicals

    Fiction, non-fiction, large print, audiobooks, Kansas history, genealogy resources, and a rotating magazine collection.

  • Computers & Wi-Fi

    Free public computers with internet access. Free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building. Printing and scanning available.

  • Copying & Printing

    Black-and-white photocopying, scanning to email, and fax services. Small per-page fee applies for printing.

  • Interlibrary Loan

    Can't find what you need on our shelves? We can borrow items from libraries across Kansas through interlibrary loan — at no charge.

  • Meeting Room

    Community meeting space available to local organizations and residents. Call ahead to reserve. Comfortable seating, accessible entry.

  • Genealogy Resources

    Local history collection, microfilm reader, Kansas historical records, and access to Heritage Quest Online genealogy database.

  • Home Delivery

    Can't make it to the library? We offer home book delivery for residents who have difficulty visiting in person. Call to arrange.

  • New Library Cards

    Get your free card same day! Cawker City library cards also give you access to the statewide Kansas library network.

  • Story Time (Kid Kapers)

    Storytelling, songs, and crafts for infants through five-year-olds. Builds early literacy and a love of reading. Ask at the desk for current schedule.

    Keep kids reading all summer with our annual summer reading challenge. Prizes, activities, and reading logs for children and teens.

    Periodic craft workshops, Pinterest classes, local history presentations, and community gatherings for adults. Check with staff for upcoming events.
